Birkenhead to Osborne

2020

The Adelaide to Tarcoola Re-Railing Program involves the upgrade of approximately 600 kilometres of track on the Adelaide (Islington and Outer Harbor) to Tarcoola line. The upgrade will improve capacity by increasing rail size along the interstate line, moving rail size from predominantly 47 kg per metre section to 60 kg per metre. The project will also include periphery works to allow for the higher axle loads (25 tonnes at 80km/h) and other associated upgrades. The upgrade will build upon the existing 100-kilometre track enhancements that have already been completed along the project line.

Omada are providing ARTC with signalling support for this project, requiring the booking out of the track circuits and affected level crossings during all works.
